Steve Hafen

Chief Operations Officer

Steve Hafen is the Chief Operations Officer for Prosper, Inc. He is responsible for leading the overall operations and day-to-day management of the organization, including the functional responsibility for most departments.

Prior to joining Prosper, Steve was the Campus Director for University of Phoenix in Calgary, Alberta, owned and operated by the Apollo Group, the largest for-profit education company in North America. As the general manager of the Alberta operations, Steve held overall responsibility for administration, marketing and enrollment, academic affairs, and student and faculty services.

Previous to his responsibilities at University of Phoenix, Steve was Vice President of Marketing and Distribution at Certiport, Inc., a leading provider of performance-based computing certification programs and services.

Additionally, Steve also spent many years in the high technology industry, including over six years at Novell, with leadership positions in marketing, sales, product management, and channel-related departments.

Finally, Steve’s background includes business and marketing instruction at Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management where he was a part-time faculty member for seven years.

Steve is graduate of Brigham Young University with a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Bachelor's Degrees in International Studies and Japanese.
